GUIDE PhD training programme
GUIDE provides both graduate and MD/PhD students with a stimulating research environment and with a broad spectrum of courses that will prepare them technically and functionally for a successful research career in an academic or industrial setting.
The most important aspect of training PhD students is to see that fruitful master - apprentice relations can develop. GUIDE matches PhD students with expert researchers working in active research groups. The expert researchers coach the PhD students through to defence of the dissertation. Journal club meetings and regular research group meetings help to create an environment in which the individual's progress is measured and advanced. Participation in "master-classes", the GUIDE international seminar programme, attendance of symposia and international congresses will further enrich the student's experience. Options to spend a brief period in a foreign institution for acquiring new skills are available and encouraged by GUIDE staff.
Educational activities are coordinated by Ms. Maaike Bansema.
